15 May 2025 - The Centre for Leadership and Professional Development (UM LEAD) hosted the 7th series of Leadership Talk at Universiti Malaya, featuring Tan Sri Wahid Omar, former Minister and past Chairman of Bursa Malaysia. The session was moderated by Datuk Dr. Anis Yusal Yusoff, Executive Director of UM LEAD and INPUMA.
Tan Sri Wahid shared his remarkable journey from a modest background to leading some of the nation’s top institutions. He underscored the importance of integrity, competence, and humility in leadership—principles that guided him throughout his career in both corporate and public service.
He also spoke on Malaysia’s economic direction, advocating for bold reforms under the Madani economic framework, better talent development, and inclusive policies to bridge income inequality and strengthen national resilience.
“We must raise the ceiling and raise the floor,” he said, highlighting the need for both high performance and equitable opportunity in Malaysia’s growth story.
The talk served as a timely and inspiring reminder that impactful leadership is grounded in service, vision, and values that uplift everyone.
